Eric Gill: artist and sculptor, author of AnEssayOnTypography, designer of GillSans and the seriph font Perpetua, carver of Westminster Cathedral in LondonTown's stations of the cross.

Gill belonged to the arts and crafts tradition begun by WilliamMorris and JohnRuskin.
