LazarusLong is the protagonist of RobertHeinlein 's novel 'TimeEnoughForLove' ''(and also "Methuselah's Children")''.  He is at least 2300 years old, and serves as a vehicle for RH's observations on life, 'Excerpts from the Notebooks of LazarusLong', which are grouped in separate sections of the novel, although the author sprinkles many additional aphorisms throughout the novel.
