A PythonLanguage WikiEngine.

The MoinMoin Wiki is at http://moinmo.in/ (this is the main source of MoinMoin information).

Contact the team if you want to contribute to the project.

It supports CGI, WSGI, fastcgi and a standalone server now - plus pre-compiled pages. If you use anything except CGI, it is up to 20x faster (compared to moin with CGI).

MoinMoin is used for the PythonLanguage community wiki: http://www.python.org/moin and for many others. Seems to be a favourite of archgeeks for its flexibility and good modular design (the MoinMoin parser, for instance, is a separate module and can be used to support WikiCreole (included in moin 1.6.0) or a WikitextStandard or the formats of other programs like MediaWiki in which there is substantial content). Supports InterWiki, SubPages, FreeLink''''''ing, VersionControlAppliedToWiki, and a QuickDiff that picks out individual character differences.

What users say about MoinMoin:
* ''I like the look of it a lot, it seems to strike a good balance between features, minimal visual clutter, and simplicity.''
* ''I like its speed, ease of configuration and excellent version control.''
* ''Documents are stored in a transparent and obvious way. Simply marvelous.''
* ''Documentation is clear and well organized.''
* ''Search feature is very fast, as everything else.''
* ''It's simple to install and configure. No problems there either.''
* ''I have not been able to get it to work. I have an account with Pair.com, which runs FreeBSD. Like every Wiki that I've tried to install, getting Moin Moin up and running is frustrating and I finally gave up. In Moin Moin's defense, my knowledge of Unix is very basic. I understand that Unix is not user friendly and Moin Moin is limited in how pain free they can make the installation in a Unix environment.''
* ''MoinMoin is my first Wiki I have been using and I got it up with no problems at all, It works smooth and uncomplicated, I love it because it's so easy to use. Besides "MOIN MOIN" means "Hello" in northern Germany, I would recommend it to anyone who is new to these things...just like me''
* ''http://freedesktop.org/ switched to MoinMoin after a security exploit on their previous TwikiClone.''
* ''The Portland State Aerospace Society (http://psas.pdx.edu/) also switched for the same reason. We use it to document all our work, track tasks, publish schedules, meeting minutes, etc.''
* ''I use the MoinMoinDesktopEdition as a information manager. I like it a lot - djc

I don't know when that comment dates from but I used it for MazeWiki and it was pretty straight-forward. -- AndrewCates
