When several producers have only one consumer. Typical Monopsonies are companies that hire several thousand workers.

The government is often a Monopsony. ''In what sense?'' The only buyer of a product? Some products - for example - defence ones - are only bought by governments. Some only by one government (nuclear weapons, for instance).

Whether or not they are "evil" is a matter of opinion.  The point is that they are analogous to monopolies, evil or not.
