Shortly before 9:00 PM in Los Angeles, news reports showed (via helicopter) a neighborhood power outage, affecting a thousand some-odd people.
This was caused by rain, not Y2K.  (The first rain in 6 months.)

US news reports showing fireworks in Eiffel tower in Paris said that upto 5% of the people in France were without power due to the massive storms that hit Europe.
