Yes, there were actually a couple of seasons of a StarTrek animated series in the Seventies. It was actually reasonably good. : Reasonably good? Watch them again, it was terrible! But a fun view regardless. Terrible animation, even more ridiculous stories than StarTrekOriginalSeries... I liked the Lioness telecom officer... ''*Growrrrr'' One of the episodes, "The Slaver Weapon," is adapted from the story "The Soft Weapon" by LarryNiven. ---- For what it's worth (i.e. for Trekkies who care about such things), the animated series is not considered "canon"--i.e. it never happened. (Or, it never ''will'' happen). It's just fiction, unlike that episode of TNG where the Enterprise crew are turned into children--that ''is'' canon, and thus an integral part of the Star Trek universe. ---- Here's a list of the episodes (StarTrek prepended in needed cases): '''Season 1''' * Beyond the Farthest Star * Yesteryear * One of Our Planets is Missing * The Lorelei Signal * More Tribbles, More Troubles * The Survivor * The Infinite Vulcan * The Magicks of Megas-Tu * Once Upon a Planet * Mudd's Passion * The Terratin Incident * Time Trap * The Ambergris Element * Slaver Weapon * The Eye of the Beholder * The Jihad '''Season 2''' * The Pirates of Orion * Bem * The Practical Joker * Albatross * How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth * The Counter-Clock Incident ''I tried to jot down some plot summaries from episodes I just watched but I guess that's a no-no... maybe not...'' '''Yesteryear''' Season 1, episode 2 of StarTrekAnimatedSeries, written by D. C. Fontana Spock has to travel back in time and save his own life during his Vulcan manhood trial. ---- '''More Tribbles, More Troubles''' Season 1, episode 5 of StarTrekAnimatedSeries, written by David Gerrold After saving the pilot of a one-man scout ship from Klingons, he is beamed aboard, only to be the infamous CyranoJones of TheTroubleWithTribbles fame. This time, the tribbles are supposed to be genetically altered to not reproduce, but they do end up growing extremely large. The Klingons, due to their hatred of tribbles, are anxious to get CyranoJones back due to the fact that he stole a creature they created - a predator that feeds on tribbles. ---- '''The Magicks of Megas-Tu''' Season 1, episode 8 of StarTrekAnimatedSeries, written by Larry Brody The Enterprise travels to the center of the galaxy, and find themselves befriended by Lucifer. They are all put on trial by the other gods who hate humans due to the trials and burnings they suffered while trying to help mankind. CategoryOffTopic
